🧬 Family Lineage
Parents
Shakti is a daughter of the famed tigress Krishna (T‑19), a powerhouse female in Ranthambore and part of the legendary lineage descending from Machli (T‑16), one of the most celebrated tigers in the world. This bloodline is renowned for producing strong, territorial offspring that have shaped much of Ranthambore’s tiger population.
Her father is not officially documented in public forest department records.
Siblings
Shakti belongs to Krishna’s extensive lineage. Her siblings include several tigers that have occupied key territories in the reserve, continuing the genetic influence of the Machli → Krishna lineage.

🌿 Territory & Sightings
Primary Zone
Shakti is primarily associated with Zone 4 of the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve, especially the Kundera range and surrounding corridors.
Core Area Within the Zone
Within Zone 4, she frequently uses areas such as Jamundeha, Lakarda, and adjacent forest trails, where prey density and cover support effective hunting and cub rearing. Sightings by safari vehicles and forest teams confirm her regular movement along these well‑known routes.
🐾 Character & Presence
Shakti is recognized for her confident, alert, and territorial presence — traits typical of the Machli‑derived lineage. She balances bold territorial patrols with careful maternal behaviour when raising cubs.
Guides and photographers describe observing her with cubs near forest trails and watering spots, a sign of her comfort within her home range and her ability to navigate human‑used corridors with caution.
🐯 Conservation Significance
As a daughter of Krishna and granddaughter of Machli, Shakti represents the enduring strength of one of Ranthambore’s most important tiger lineages. Her successful litters in both 2021 and 2025 contribute to the reserve’s growing tiger population and help maintain genetic continuity. Her presence in Zone 4 also supports ecological balance in one of Ranthambore’s key safari and wildlife areas.
